Tokyo Disney Resort Tokyo Disney Resort

Tokyo’s Disneyland theme park first opened on April 15th, 1983, as part of the ever-expanding Disney park experience and Disney’s first real venture in to the East in terms of bringing resorts and Disney rides to the general public. With a distinctive Eastern influence, the park proved to be extremely popular, especially as the sea-based side of the park took flight and offered people something unique to Disney resorts, globally – the merging of Disney ideals with the water-focused appeal of locations like Orlando’s Sea World.

The park also contains an act performed by the globally-renown Cirque du Soleil, titled “Zed.” The addition of such high-profile acts to the park have meant many will visit to see the circus performers as well as the Disney attractions, much in the same way their performances in Vegas attract crowds. Tokyo also continues to expand, and with over eight hotels, all luxurious, its own shopping districts and even an artificial river, the park continues to draw crowds from the East and beyond to this day.
