After successfully opening American and Japanese Disneyland resorts, the time had come to bring to Europe what the East and the USA had benefited from so well in terms of high-quality resorts built around the Disney universe. On April 12th, 1992, Disneyland Paris opened, and Europe flooded to its gates as its ideal location next to one of Europe’s most famous cities meant it was accessible as a central point for most of Europe.
As with California, Disneyland Paris began opening hotels on the premises, expanding the theme park into the same type of resort as its overseas cousins. The park went through several name changes, before settling on Disneyland Paris. It is a mainstay of European resorts, and one of the most famous theme parks on the continent, offering countless millions of visitors the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about without having to travel outside of Europe.
